Detailed below are the results of the Annual Quality Audit carried out in September 2007 from visiting Professionals (GP's, District Nurses, Chiropodists, Optician & Dentist) and other external services.

1. About the Home in General

· Treatment room could be a little less crowded. Also treatment couch could do with a ‘blue roll’ (now in place)
· Treatment room is a useful facility

Any comments on the above:
· Shandford is one of the nicest Residential Homes that I visit. It is an all-rounder and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to any potential residents.
· On a recent visit with a student nurse, all above positive aspects noticed & commented on.

· I have never witnessed any ‘cross words’ or actions. The staff appear to be extremely competent and approachable.
· Staff met appear to be competent in communication skills & their general approach to patients. However, I am unaware of other competencies/skills/staff training.

· As a mobile hairdresser visiting Shandford fortnightly, the management & staff are extremely helpful & welcoming.
· Appears to be well managed

In your view, what aspects, if any, of our Home need improvements?

· Shandford has a very warm, friendly & caring atmosphere and is a lovely place to be.
· What more can I say? I am always made welcome; residents are happy and I know places are much sought after by residents. Keep up the good work!
· Shandford is a friendly home – standards of care high. Residents appear to be well cared for and comfortable. Communication between carers, Senior Carers & Community Nurses in reporting of problems, or treatments required, is good. It is a well run care home.
